Being in a relationship without knowing how to share your feelings and receive your partner’s feelings in useful ways is like jumping into a pool without knowing how to swim. You can flail around all you want, but it’s not going to keep you afloat for very long—you need to be able to move in any direction at will. Like swimming, knowing how to share your feelings and respond to your partner's feelings will move your relationship in the direction you want: toward more intimacy, closeness, connection, and trust.

Suddenly finding herself 40 and single, Lori Gottlieb said the unthinkable in her March 2008 article in The Atlantic: Maybe she, and single women everywhere, needed to stop chasing the elusive Prince Charming and instead go for Mr. Good Enough. Looking at her friends' happy marriages to good enough guys who happen to be excellent husbands and fathers, Gottlieb declared it time to reevaluate what we really need in a partner. By looking at everything from culture to biology, in Marry Him, Gottlieb frankly explores the dilemma that so many women today seem to face.

Overthinking is a toxic behavioral pattern for relationships, and chances are you already have a first-hand experience of that.
Most of the time, a simple unanswered call or text can trigger a spiral or ruminations and dreadful scenarios that leave you emotionally and physically drained. Experts agree that one of the most common triggers for overthinking patterns is insecurity, which can lead to anxiety and depression.

This book provides you with the tools to break the destructive pattern of overthinking and to start building your trust in yourself and your relationship.
In this guide, you will discover:
- One simple trick to nip rumination in the bud (This is essential.)
- Why overthinking isn’t toxic just for your relationship, but also for your health

Story
The 13 chapters of The Art of War, each devoted to one aspect of warfare, were compiled by the high-ranking Chinese military general, strategist, and philosopher Sun-Tzu. In spite of its battlefield specificity, The Art of War has found new life in the modern age, with leaders in fields as wide and far-reaching as world politics, human psychology, and corporate strategy finding valuable insight in its timeworn words.

Negative thinking—it seems to have no end. The question is, can anything be done about it? Negative thinking is a self-perpetuating mechanism. Negative thinking fuels more negative thinking, which in turn fuels even more. Around and around it goes, never losing steam or momentum. All the while, you’re utterly fatigued and exhausted. Ten years can go by, and the mind-numbing cycle still will not have stopped. Because it’s self-sustaining, negative thinking only grows stronger with each passing month, year, and decade. Can it be stopped?

Helpful
It was helpful and relatable. It made me recognize a lot of my unnecessary worrying and gave good tips on how I can control my mindset.

Weird beeping noise in background
I could not focus on what the narrator was saying because I heard a very soft beeping the entire time he was reading.

A must for overthinkers!
I wasn’t too fond of the voice but it grew on me. He moves fast, I took notes in some pertinent sections and had to keep pausing and going back, but ultimately I loved it and I seriously hope it helps with my awful overthinking. I would recommend and I will definitely listen again (slowed down this time!). Lots of helpful tips to get your overthinking in check!
