Resumen del Editor

One hundred percent scientific and proven ways to make friends quickly, turn enemies into friends, gain trust, and be flat-out likable.

Utilize of the most interesting, shocking, and counterintuitive scientific findings to simply make people want to be around you.

The Science of Likability takes over 60 seminal scientific and psychological studies and breaks them down into real, usable guidelines and tips to create the presence you have always wanted. Every piece of advice in this book to increase your social standing and likability factor is 100 percent backed by in-depth, peer-reviewed research.

Learn how subconsciously make yourself likable, trustworthy, and intelligent.

You can get a new haircut and wardrobe, and you can even learn funny jokes. But likability is something more. It's subconscious, and it's the small signs that signal our brains to let their guards down and embrace others. Learn what common sense and intuition don't teach you. We know what to do if we want to make someone hate us - we now also know what to do to make someone like us.

Understand what makes people tick, and strategically give it to them. From Freud, to Cialdini, to Pavlov, to Schachter, to Goleman, these studies are insightful, analytical, sometimes surprising, but most importantly effective and actionable. Pair that with the insight and human intelligence factor of best-selling author and social skills coach Patrick King, and you have a guide that can be listened to equally for education as for helpful, real advice. Patrick's writing draws on a variety of sources, including scientific research, academic experience, coaching, and real-life experience.

Some topics that are included in this book are:

  • How to take advantage of people's memories for your sense of charm.
  • The power of equity in relationships and friendships.
  • A literal formula for "friendship chemistry".
  • The real way to use eye contact to build trust.
  • Why tripping and being vulnerable in front of people is positive.
  • Universal definitions of charisma, wit, and humor - seriously. Universal.

Get the book! It's Worth it!

I had read his first publication of this book and almost didn't purchase the new updated 2019 version. I am so glad I did. I like his books because they are information packed and not just a lot fluff. This book is meat. So much good info, examples, references, insights, science etc to back up what the author is laying out. I also take notes as I read. I like that he has added take aways and a summary at the end of the book. Very helpful.

I think anyone who is trying to improve their own personality, relationships, and achieve their life goals would Greatly! benefit from this book. Every parent should read it and teach these principals to their kids. Every teacher should read it and teach these principles to their students in my opinion.

I think so many people live lives with no confidence and struggle with themselves and their relationships. This book is a must read.

Well done. A+++

Good book, matched the summary

It's a review at likability from an empirical assessment of what works. This the second Pat King book I have listened to and I found value and sound techniques in both.

Useful

I like the fact that these findings are evidence based. I will have to go out and test them myself. However, much of what was mentioned in the book I do recall experiencing in real world social situations. I think King is onto something. I would occasionally find myself zoning out because of Netwon's sometimes monotone performance. However, the examples brought forward in the book kept it engaging and interesting. If you'd like to expand your research of social dynamics, this book may be useful to you. To others it may not. Give it a go!

I enjoyed it

I liked how the author organized the information and gave a summary at the end of each chapter. The last chapter is also a book summary, which is wonderful. I plan on listening to the book summary every so often to be reminded of the science.

The Science of Likability

I was given this book for free in exchange for an honest review.

60 ways to get people to like you is way too many to apply all at once, but that's clearly not the point in this book. Some of the points didn't apply to me (that I know of) but many of them show promise. I think it might be best to pick just a few that weave together, rather than trying to do too much at once.
