Tired of hate-liking other people’s engagement photos on Instagram? It’s time to completely obliterate the “good girl” inside of you. You know the one: She thrives on external validation, accepts whatever scraps of affection are thrown at her, and is always the first one to bend to someone else’s will. And she needs to get the hell out of here. While you may feel like you’re doing everything right, that doesn’t explain why all the guys are still swiping left. This book will.

Story
When Edmund Hillary first conquered Mt. Everest, Sherpa Tenzing Norgay was at his side. Indeed, for as long as Westerners have been climbing the Himalaya, Sherpas have been the unsung heroes in the background. In August 2008, when eleven climbers lost their lives on K2, the world’s most dangerous peak, two Sherpas survived. They had emerged from poverty and political turmoil to become two of the most skillful mountaineers on earth. Based on unprecedented access and interviews, Buried in the Sky reveals their astonishing story for the first time.

Bringing about a sense of excitement
Pauline Winslow has created an excellent title for retirees that really brings about a sense of excitement. This book contains wonderful narration and is easy to listen to without becoming overbearing. A fantastic takeaway from this title is the encouragement for retirees to stay socially connected during their golden years with social activities and groups. The author encourages retirees to thoroughly assess their interests, passions, and education, as these are all essential key components for picking volunteer work or social groups and activities that will be of interest and keep you engaged and excited! Winslow says it all when she says, “Use your life experience and education in new and exciting ways.” This title is sure to get the cogs in the machine working and inspires listeners towards exciting activities and creating new avenues of purpose and joy.
