About this listen

2024 Audie Award winner for Audio Drama

Get ready for a hilarious fantasy adventure crafted by master storyteller Felicia Day. This epic and captivating audio experience is performed by an incredible ensemble cast including Felicia herself, Wil Wheaton, Sean Astin, LilyPichu, London Hughes, and the incomparable Neil Gaiman as The Narrator.

Once upon a time, in the magical land of San Francisco, there lived a not-so-ordinary girl named Laurel Pettigrew. She was supposed to be the Chosen One. The plan was simple: She would vanquish the great evil Tybus in an epic battle. But destiny had other ideas, and Laurel's performance in the whole heroics department was a colossal flop.

Now, instead of being a legendary hero, Laurel's the resident pariah of the magic realm. And what’s worse, the dark wizard Tybus swooped in, took over the realm, and forced all supernatural creatures to live under his tyrannical rule. He’s even stripped away the magical powers of those who refused to join his wicked cause. Yeah, everyone hates her. Well, everyone except her two roomies—Sybil, the sassiest diva of a fairy, who could throw shade with the flick of a wing. And Frank, the vampire who rocks a bald spot and a serious paunch. They are the real MVPs, the ride-or-die buddies who have her back, no matter how many colossal fails she racks up.

And it’s all about to get even weirder. Along comes Kate, a Normie who somehow knows more about Laurel than Laurel knows about herself. Turns out, she's got some secrets up her sleeve that might just give Laurel a shot at redemption and a chance to rewrite her destiny.

Third Eye is a side-splitting adventure that will keep you on the edge of your seat. Laurel and her ragtag team of misfits must embark on a wild journey to take down Tybus. It's a treacherous path, but they'll have to put their differences aside and work together. Get ready to laugh, gasp, and cheer as they stumble their way toward an epic showdown.

The full cast includes Felicia Day, Neil Gaiman, Christopher Judge, Carolyn Seymour, Laraine Newman, Wil Wheaton, Danny Pudi, Sean Astin, LilyPichu, London Hughes, Alan Tudyk, Nyima Funk, Hudson Yang, Amir Talai, Sean Giambrone, Jade Hykush, Janet Varney, Lila Sage Bromley, Amy Okuda, Phil LaMarr, Steve Agee, Kate Miccuci, Jeff Lewis, Troy Baker, Harvey Guillen, Weird Al Yankovic, Kristian Nairn, and Jonah Ray Rodrigues.

About the Performer

Wil Wheaton loves to tell stories. He’s been doing it his whole life.
By age ten, he had already been acting for three years. In 1986, at age 12, he earned critical acclaim as Gordie Lachance in Rob Reiner’s Stand By Me; at 14, he began his four-year turn as Wesley Crusher on the hit TV series Star Trek: The Next Generation, which led to his portrayal of a fictionalized version of himself on CBS’s The Big Bang Theory.
He currently hosts The Ready Room, the official online hub for all things Star Trek Universe.
An accomplished voice actor, Wil has lent his talents to animated series, including Family Guy, Teen Titans, Guardians of the Galaxy, and Batman: The Brave and the Bold. His video game credits include four installments each of the Grand Theft Auto and Tom Clancy’s Ghost Recon series, as well as Fallout: New Vegas, DC Universe Online, Broken Age, and I Expect You To Die 2.
His audiobook narration of Ernest Cline’s Ready Player One debuted at number one on the New York Times bestseller list and was one of Goodreads’ 10 Best Narrator and Audiobook Pairings of All Time. He has also lent his voice to titles by John Scalzi, Randall Monroe, Joe Hill, and Bill Gates. Wil’s narrations regularly appear on Audible’s bestseller list.
He has contributed columns to Salon.com, The A.V. Club, The Wall Street Journal, LA Weekly, Playboy, The Washington Post, and the Suicide Girls Newswire.
In his New York Times bestselling Still Just a Geek, an older, somewhat wiser Wil revisited 2004’s Just a Geek with all-new reflections that show just how far he’s come. In this vulnerable, honest memoir about trying and failing and trying again, Wil opens up about love, trauma, tragedy, and confronting the worst parts of himself. Equal parts funny and poignant, Still Just a Geek weighs the folly of youth against the pain of experience—and celebrates all the strange, awful, beautiful adventures in between.
In recent years, Wil has opened up about his CPTSD from surviving childhood abuser and exploitation. He has earned recognition as an outspoken mental health advocate, chronicling his own journey in his blog and as a public speaker for NAMI. His powerful, candid essay about his struggle with chronic depression and anxiety garnered national attention.
Though he keeps trying to retire from on-camera acting, his cameo as The Traveler in Star Trek: Picard’s second season delighted fans, sparking speculation about his character making appearances elsewhere in the Star Trek Universe. Wil was a finalist in the 2023 Celebrity Jeopardy Tournament, where he won 250,000 dollars for the National Women’s Law Center.
Wil lives in Los Angeles with his badass, irrepressible wife Anne, their rescued dog and cat, and five arcade cabinets.

Very Unique, Very Felicia, & VERY Enjoyable

I was afraid getting this because as someone with massive ADHD, I always struggle to concentrate and get through a book, especially an audiobook that I can't physically see and fulfill all my senses but.... This Audiobook with such great voice actors, the sound effects (though one scene DEFINITELY triggered my misophobia.... *shudders* the cereal lip smacking scene...), it really helps to visualize everything that's happening and sucks you right in.

It's emotional, funny, and absolutely addicting. While listening to it, I almost want to force myself to stop listening to it because I don't want it to end!

if you're a fan of Felicia Day's projects/writing, you also will absolutely enjoy this. It very much features her charm in all its glory with her unique comedy and writing. It definitely feels like audible actually let Felicia present her project as she had originally written it as it massively gives you the 2010's nostalgia of her old The Guild style comedy.

Even if you're not a fan of Felicia and just looking for a good fantasy audiobook to listen to, I absolutely recommend this. You'll immediately fall in love with this near TV style performance where you'll immediately be able to picture the characters moving around and interacting within their world. It's absolutely brilliant.

Fantasy Fun!

Not every journey has to be 45 hr adventure. Felicia does takes us on a journey, created characters that we can enjoy and a trip that’s more fun than binging a TV show.

The actors really bring the story to life and it was fun listening and watching the story run in my own mind.

Thanks for inviting us to your world!

an itch that I didn't know needed scratching

This was a fantastic performance, until the very end. I would say that Sean Astin was the highlight for me, but all the actors did a phenomenal job.

They had me laughing through the entire book, and there were some fun twists at the end. I am super happy that I picked this up on a whim, and hope that there will be new releases in this format.

Magic, Demons, Vampires and Fae

This band of misfits are funny, wicked, sometimes naughty and entertaining. What a casting for this fantasy. Neil Gaiman narrating? Yes… A fast paced story that is finished before you know it. Plug this in to keep entertained while doing the things that are not so fun. It will help make it better.
