So Good

Whenever I read a TJ Newman book, I find myself asking, “Why was she ever a flight attendant?” Her writing is gripping and her storytelling is top notch. Do not hesitate to read this and her other books. Amazing. Quickly becoming a favorite author of mine.

This book so drew you into each character and in doing so made me cry at the end for the people in the story. Very intense book!

Excellent Listen

T.J. Newman keeps getting better and better. This book started fast and never slowed down. Being from the upper Midwest I really enjoyed the small town Minnesota setting.

After discovering her work last year through Mr. Don Winslow on Twitter, I eagerly picked up her previous two thrilling novels, Falling and Drowning, and was thoroughly delighted by them. As it usually happens when I fall in love with someone’s writing, I couldn’t wait to dive into Worst Case Scenario, and let me tell you, it did not disappoint!

I pre-ordered the audiobook version immediately after its release, and yesterday, when I got the email from Audible that my purchase can be enjoyed, I had planned to listen to a few chapters. However, I was so engrossed in the story that I couldn’t stop and ended up spending eight and a half hours of my day devouring the entire audiobook, which felt like a mere blink of an eye.

The novel follows a heart-pounding scenario where a commercial airliner crashes into a nuclear power plant in the small town of Waketa, Minnesota. From there, the situation escalates into a national crisis with global implications, reaching a level of disaster that has never been witnessed before.

What truly sets this book apart is T.J. Newman’s exceptional character development. The power plant workers, firefighters, teachers, families, neighbors, lifelong friends, and even complete strangers become characters that I found myself deeply invested in. T.J. Is three for three

This book like her other two is fantastic! Keeps you on the edge of your seat. You can’t stop listening to it because you want to know what happens next. She also pulls no punches with the characters, when you feel that some are safe you get a spin on it.

Narration is excellent.

I enjoyed this author’s previous books. This one was slightly less enjoyable, for me. It wasn’t as engaging as her last. I really loved all the characters in “Drowning,” and that’s hard to make happen in an action thriller.

I wish there’d been more details about the plane, I think there were missed opportunities there. I also did enjoy all the nuclear ☢️ info, but I found myself having to rewind a lot, meaning it didn’t keep my attention as much as her previous books. It’s an entertaining read. It does grab heartstrings, and keep you on your toes, but at a lesser level. If you enjoyed her last books, check this one out. I never knew what was going to happen in those, but this one was a little predictable in a few spots.

Paige, turning suspenseful from the beginning page all the way to the end

I loved every minute the author is absolutely infamous and perfect in his delivery. You must read the book you will love. It is definitely a page Turner from beginning to end.

What should never happen

Very realistic, good story but sad. Made me feel proud at Americans striving to save those they love, even at their own demise.

The best book I’ve read in 2024

This book was fast paced and exciting with wonderful character development, suspense and just the right amount of pulling at the heart strings.
