    Jul 15 2024

Can a Holiday be Fun and Healthy?

Rach discussing healthy habits during holidays. Rach recently returned from Bali, her first proper holiday in seven years.

Her previous holidays involved short camping trips and a trip to the USA in 2016, then life events including finishing university, becoming a single mum, and COVID-19.

Rach had a fantastic time in Bali this 2024.

In the past: binge eating, using fat burners, and excessive gym visits.

Now she is more on a balanced and relaxed approach to health.

    Rach Tips to enjoy Bali:

    • Do not use the hotel gym but did a lot of walking and exploring.
    • Choose to walk rather than use scooters for better health and exploration.
    • Walk, when possible, take stairs instead of elevators.
    • Enjoy cocktails but did not feel pressured to drink excessively.
    • Ensure proper calorie intake and balanced meals with proteins, fats, and carbs.
    • Enjoy local dishes in Bali, like Nasi Goreng and Mie Goreng, without guilt.
    • Conscious effort to have three solid meals a day, leading to fewer cravings for unhealthy snacks.
    • Utilize natural electrolytes from coconut water.

Rach ideas for a balanced approach to health and holiday enjoyment.

    1. An intuitive approach to food, drinks, and exercise.

    2. Breaks from regular exercise can help muscles recover and reset.

    3. Importance of enjoying holidays and activities that bring happiness.

    4. Doing activities that feel good both physically and mentally.

    5. Balance enjoyment with health practices for overall well-being.

Adding healthy habits to enjoyable activities rather than being overly rigid. Do not be afraid in indulging occasionally and provides tips to stay on track.
