• What is the cause of your anxiety? Is it trauma? Or is it your gut?
    Jul 17 2024

In todays episode I discuss what might be the cause of your anxiety. When someone comes across what I do, they often begin to question themselves on the cause of their anxiety. The idea that all of our anxiety and mental health issues stem from trauma has been shoved down our throats, but that isn't always necessarily the truth. The other side of that is that there is an issue going on in your body and your gut that is causing anxiety.

But then how do you differentiate what is causing your anxiety? Today I go over how to discern the difference between trauma vs. a physiological reason behind your anxiety. I find it helpful to start to distinguish between the symptoms and create a list of the two so you are able to bring these lists to the right people (such as a therapist for your trauma and a practitioner for your symptoms) so you can begin to address your anxiety from a holistic perspective. Addressing both your gut related causes as well as your trauma related causes with the right people.

  • Ep. 7 - Burnout
    Jul 4 2024

In todays episode, we discuss the topic of burnout. In today's day and age, we are being bombarded by stressors and at some point if we don't manage our diet and lifestyle, the stressors can negatively affect your health.

Today I discuss what burnout is on a physiological level. I go over the general adaptations of stress and how each stage affects us and develops into burnout.

When it comes to burnout, I go over how on a Hair Tissue Mineral Analysis I can tell if someone is near or in a state of burnout and how I can use that to begin to reverse the effects of the prolonged stress on their health and wellbeing.

Lastly, I go over my tips on what to do if you're concerned about burnout. While the main topic today was mineral balance, it requires both nutrition and lifestyle factors to reverse the effects of burnout. Luckily, it doesn't take 3-5 years to recover the way a TikTok video once told me it did.

(And that's why education is important!)

  • Ep. 6 - Is your low stomach acid causing your anxiety?
    Jul 2 2024

Today we discuss the question on if your low stomach acid is the cause of your anxiety. Maybe it's new ifnormation, maybe it's not, but deficiencies are a major cause for mental health issues.

When it comes to deficiencies, its not always about what your eating, it's about what you're digesting. Having optimal digestion is a crucial step in making sure that you stay anxiety free for many reasons. One important reason is the fact that despite our bodies needing micronutrients (vitamins + minerals), our bodies aren't great at actually absorbing them.

And, the idea that the body can only absorb, what it digests. We discuss how the 'use it or lose it' principal doesn't only affect muscle, but actually stomach acid as well. So those on a vegan or vegetarian diets aren't more likely to have deficiencies due to the foods they eat (and don't eat), but the fact that their bodies may not be able to absorb even the supplements they are choosing to take, due to a lack of stomach acid.

In today's episode we go over the importance of stomach acid, why you may not have enough, what some signs and symptoms are that it needs support, and of course, what you can do to improve it.

  • Ep. 5 - Are your panic attacks caused by blood sugar?
    Jun 27 2024

In today's episode I go in-depth to breakdown what blood sugar is and how exactly it may be causing your panic attacks.

Many people don't know that low blood sugar and anxiety look and feel almost identical. You know, the hyperventilation, heart palpitations, weakness, shakiness, lightheadedness, dizziness, and passing out? Yeah, that can be your blood sugar.

But what's causing your blood sugar to cause panic attacks? There are multiple causes of low blood sugar that I go over in this episode and we really take the deep dive to discuss exactly what is happening, why your body is doing that, and the repercussions of having this blood sugar dysfunction over the course of months, years, and often decades.

At the end of the episode I give you 4 exact recommendations to start implementing into your life immediately, so make sure to stay until the end.

  • Ep. 4 - Food is Information
    Jun 25 2024

Today's episode is another Tiny Tuesday where I briefly discuss the importance of the quality of food.

Food, whether highly processed or regeneratively grown provides information to your body. That information can either feed disease or feed wellness. The quality of your food determines whether you feel energetic or fatigued, anxiety prone or calm, happy or sad. For years we have been fed the narrative that the quality of food doesn't matter, only calories do. But it's time to shift that narrative and consider what information we are feeding to our bodies.

We need to get in touch with the person we want to be, and act in ways to become that person. When you look at your parents or grandparents, consider how they lived their lives. Were they stuck on the couch due to pain and fatigue? Or, were they hiking and being active with hobbies? What were their cognitive abilities like? Then consider the types of diets they ate. It is easy to venture that 80% of the time, they were eating in a way that fueled what their days would look like - exhausted or energized.

It's time to ditch the narrative that calories are all that matter and start focusing on the quality of the food and the information it can provide.

  • Ep. 3 - WELL Methodology
    Jun 20 2024

In today's episode I go over exactly how I work with clients. The WELL method was founded after analyzing exactly what I was doing when my clients were getting amazing success. The data gave birth to my signature WELL method, which stands for:

    Wisdom
    Enrich
    Level Out
    Liberate

During this episode, I outline the specific tools that I use with each client to guide them during each step of the methodology. By identifying barriers and providing education, clients are able to decipher what steps they need to take to succeed in reaching their goals. Next, clients work to increase their intake of clean water, nutrient dense foods, and light. Then, the work comes to focus on rebalancing dysfunctions within systems of the body. This requires the most focus and work. While many people feel significant relief after going through the first 3 steps, there is a group that will need continued work to eradicate toxins from the body during the last phase.

The beauty of my WELL methodology is that each step prepares you for success in the next. It creates a ripple effect where each change helps to rebalance and restore the body's environment, so that it can heal itself. My methodology is used in both my 1:1 client sessions, as well as my group coaching program "Soothe Fuel Activator".

  • Ep. 2 - Social Media is Inflammatory
    Jun 18 2024

Welcome to the first Tiny Tuesday podcast episode where I hop on (or should I say, jump off) about a topic that has me feeling a certain type of way.

In this episode we discuss how to navigate the world of social media without being thrown all the way into one camp or another. Right now, social media is clickbait central and trying to convince you in 30 second clips that vegetables are poisonous and you should completely cut out this food or that. The issue is that a lot of the information online lacks nuance and it takes a high level of discernment to figure out what's for you.

In this episode I outline the importance of discernment and how to navigate the online wellness space when you don't know enough to have a good level of discernment. I also discuss why you shouldn't identify with your healing process and how that can hinder your healing. My most important rule to know if something is for you online, is to try it and see how you feel. Your body will guide you toward what it needs in that moment in time, if you just listen.
