• Ep 48 Why I Dislike Fitness Challenges (and What to do Instead)

    If you are into fitness, chances are you have done a fitness challenge before. While it may be fun or exciting, at the end of the day, fitness challenges are just another quick fix. Hygienists have enough quick fixes you don’t need any more! On top of that, if you have an all or nothing mentality, a challenge is going to make you go 0 to 100 which is not sustainable. As well as any results you get, they won’t last long either. This is not my fitness philosophy. My goal for all of my clients is to have a plan that is realistic, and sustainable LONG TERM.     Do you workout consistently but don’t see the results you strive for? Do you still have pain despite putting in the effort to get fit and healthy? There is one reason why this is. While muscle imbalances play a part in this (because your body is not working together optimally), you’re not able to execute exercises properly. Your body is compensating. I see this daily! Just like you see a patient doing a simple task like brushing their teeth incorrectly, exercise is SOOOOO much more complex! If you aren’t doing things efficiently, what’s the point? Today I’m giving you three examples on how to properly perform exercises. You don’t want to miss this!

  • Ep 46 Why REST DAYS are Crucial for Building Muscle

    Do you workout consistently but don’t see the toned, defined look you hope for? A lot of hygienists come to me looking to build muscle which is a great goal but, in talking with them, I see most often they are doing all the wrong things. In order to build muscle, we need to rest so that our muscles have time to repair and grow. If you are working out 6 days a week, you are doing way too much and hindering the results you could have. More is not better when it comes to building muscle! Not to mention that working out too much increases muscle soreness as well as the risk of injury.   • Ep 45 From Exhausted After Work to ENERGIZED: Rachael's Story

    In today’s episode I am sharing my client Rachael’s transformation. Rahael shares that because of her neck, shoulder, trap, and upper back pain, it was a struggle to get through her day. After work she would come home and just want to lay down in bed. She was too exhausted to cook dinner or play with her daughter. She actually had taken 3 months off of work completely due to her chronic neck pain and because of this, she knew she needed to do something for herself. You muscles, bones, joints, connective tissues are misaligned. High impact workouts are extremely hard on your joints and only do more damage!
