    We all have the same 24 hours in a day. The same 365 days in the year. So, why is it that some people seem to do so much of value and feel satisfied with their use of it, whilst others seem to waste it?

     

    It’s become normal to run around frantically and admirable to be ‘busy’. Except, what most of us either don’t realise (or forget), is that it’s really expensive to live in a constantly stressed or short-term thinking state.

     

    We all have a relationship with time, albeit often a subconscious one.

     

    Once I realised this and started to readdress my sense of alignment and urgency around what’s important to me, I started to relax. I found many of my patients and clients did too and hence this curiosity around Time became an important part of my methodology.

     

    This episode shares a simple acronym with 5 steps to help increase your awareness and optimise your relationship with time.

    In my personal and professional experience, we're often held back from being our best and most vibrant selves by things we don't even realise. It's just one reason (amongst many) why New Year's Resolutions don't work particularly well.

  • Navigating Perimenopause, Menopause & Beyond

    Perimenopause can hit much earlier than women might expect and menopause can bring challenges we’d prefer not to have. Furthermore, so many women are confused by their symptoms and misunderstood by those around them - who can think they’re going crazy as they navigate the fatigue and fluctuations.

     

    The professionals that women seek guidance from aren’t always as knowledgeable or empathetic as women might hope for, meaning they can be misguided by those they seek guidance from.

     

    Yet no doctor, therapist, coach or healer knows your body better than YOU. They may know more about general medicine, health, physiology, psychology and energy - but really, they don’t know or feel what goes on day in, day out, in YOUR body, mind or life.

     

    Learning to understand, trust, love and respect our precious bodies through this transition is such an important part of navigating peri and menopause without the debilitating symptoms many experience. 

     

    In this episode, I’ll share some of the symptoms to look out for, as well as how you can start to manage them.

  • The Critical Importance of Breathing Well

    Let’s imagine there was a totally free drug, that was available anytime, any place, and had no undesirable side effects.

     

    A drug that could relieve pain, calm stress, help maintain an ideal weight and hormone balance, as well as optimise digestion and significantly improve cardiovascular health. Not only all of that but could also support you and your loved ones to sleep well and perform at their best at work, school or in sport.

     

    If there’s ONE practical thing that I hope EVERYONE who tunes into this podcast takes away is understanding the CRITICAL importance of breathing well.

     

    It’s the easiest, quickest way I know to stay Mind Body Wise.

     

    Yet, one common problem with almost every patient and client I've ever worked with (ie. thousands of people!) is that they don't breathe optimally.

     

    It's not their fault, they've simply never been taught.

     

    In this episode, I'll introduce exactly WHY breathing optimally is SO important. We'll explore the physical benefits; from reducing stress and inflammation through to its impact on pain, our bone density and performance. We'll also look at its impact on our mental, emotional and even spiritual well-being too.

     

    I’ll delve into how most people tend to breathe instead and why this can cause physical and mental health problems. I will also take you through a quick exercise to show you how to self-assess the way in which you’re breathing right now and show you a simple technique to improve it.

     

    I don't like thinking of this as breath ‘work’ but instead as taking short, mindful moments to breathe more consciously; to gradually uplevel the way we breathe automatically.

     

    I don’t often claim guarantees, but will pretty much guarantee that if you try a few mindful moments and observe your breath every day, your health or life will start to change for the better too :)

  • The Art & Science of Mind Body Mastery

    Welcome to episode ONE!

     

    I’m excited to share this space with you and explore what I describe as the 5 H’s - health, happiness, hormones, healing and high performance, which are the 5 main areas I specialise in.

     

    From our podcast name you’ve perhaps gathered that we’ll explore the Mind-Body connection and that’s what this first episode is all about. I’ll introduce why I’m so passionate about this mind-body connection and specifically share some ways they inter-connect giving us an incredible ability to heal, grow, thrive, perform and accomplish amazing things.

     

    I’ll also share a simple self-assessment tool to help establish why you might be feeling the way you are - whether that’s at the struggling or high-flying end of the spectrum - there are things to be learnt on either end.

     

    Because whilst knowledge is helpful, one aim for this podcast is to share simple practical tools to increase self-awareness, which I believe is one of the main foundations of transformation and what I’m particularly interested in helping people do as a coach, mentor, teacher and physiotherapist.
