Publisher's summary

  • BE A VOICE, NOT AN ECHO

There is a big difference between being a voice and an echo. An echo merely repeats what has already been said, word for word, with the same intensity, focus, volume, expectation, and outcome. It is easy to echo what someone else says as there is no attachment to your thought process.

It is always better to construct your messages in your voice from God’s Word, using your study time to form your worldview from what the Father says. You must also be willing to challenge it from time to time for the sake of a better vision.

"Be A Voice, Not An echo" is a call to action – an invitation to step into the Lord’s power and anointing on you as you embrace your authenticity. Instead of cookie-cutting what everyone else is doing, you lead with purpose. In a world that often encourages conformity, choosing to be the voice for God instead of an echo of man requires courage, determination, and a steadfast belief in what you have received from the Father.

If you echo someone's words, you repeat them or express agreement with their attitude or opinion. Their views often echo each other. Instead of being an echo of man and repeating their stuff, be a voice of God. To do so, you must be able to hear His voice. Here are five ways to recognize God's voice:
  • Learn the volume of God's voice.
  • Learn the language of the Holy Spirit.
  • Learn this truth of God’s Word: the Holy Spirit will never contradict God's Word.
  • Learn to recognize the sound of His voice.
  • Learn to verify the Holy Spirit's voice.
God did not call any of us to be “echoes.” He called us to be “voices,” speaking what He has spoken to us through prayer, the Word, and the Spirit of God. It is my heart’s driving passion and desire to have a fresh Word relevant to the people, situations, and needs.

Echoes fade away and are easily misunderstood. You can’t stop an echo and clarify the message. You are an echo if you are teaching sermons that you cannot answer questions on. You are an echo if you constantly have to use other people’s testimonies to back up your point. You are an echo if you have to cut and paste other people’s blog posts and change the words slightly to appear wise.

So, as you go through your days here on earth, seek to be a voice rather than an echo. Allow the Holy Spirit to speak through you to whatever situation might be before you. You do not have to understand it. Just be obedient to His nudging and urging. That is the Father’s desire for each of us.
