Not what I was hoping for.

Excellent narration by Luke Daniels as always.

This book in the series was not as light hearted and fun as the previous books.

Seeing the cover (honestly, I didn’t even read the synopsis before buying it - Magic 2.0 books are an auto buy for me) - I was expecting some fun interactions with many multiple versions of Brit.
Yes, there were multiple versions of Brit interacting together, but it wasn’t fun. Snooty, bitchy, grumpy... but not fun.

We know from previous books that future Brit and and future Philip are not a couple, but this is the book we find out why...... and well, Brit is a spiteful bitch.

Sounds like the next book should be interesting from the way this one ended. I just hope Mr. Meyer’s gives Philip a better happier storyline than what it looks like the future holds for him.

Looking forward to book 6 !

The title is the story.

Kind of defeats the feminist bent of the overall series by writing a story where a woman is so ruled by emotion she almost glitches the universe into oblivion just because her boyfriend secretly talked to other women (I don't think that's a spoiler).

I don't know, I enjoy the series but I wish the author wouldn't write every single character as if they're complete morons.

Pro: I like Scott Meyer quirky style and the fun way he has the wizards interact.

Con: let’s take the worst person (Brit) who is already obnoxious and full of herself and make it all about her. I just found my self rolling my eyes ; they would be better off to put all the Brits in one of those mime boxes.

Totally devastating, completely enthralling

I have thoroughly enjoyed every entry in the Magic 2.0 series and am breathlessly waiting for number 6 (which should be out next summer). This book pays off a lot of things that began in Spell or High Water. There were a lot of clever twists (which is no surprise, this is a Scott Meyer joint after all) and several unexpected turns! Ultimately this book delivered the most emotionally devastating, if not ultimately predictable (“because that is how it happened before”) climaxes of the series. For a silly story, it has a surprising amount of heart!

Luke Daniels is nothing short of amazing. I have no doubt that this book presented a singular challenge as several characters interacted with multiple versions of themselves. In the expert hands of Daniels, this potentially infuriating and confusing plot device is executed flawlessly... subtle changes in intonation and inflection, help to make clear exactly who you are hearing.

If you’ve read this far into my review what are you even doing with your life?! Stop reading this and buy the book already! You won’t regret it (unless you haven’t heard the previous 4 book, then buy all 5)!

A very entertaining addition to the Magic 2.0 series.

Out of Spite, Out of Mind continues to be a very entertaining story of the Magic 2.0 series. Scott Meyer has done a great job continuing the story and Luke Daniels continues to be a fantastic voice actor and does such a great job bringing the characters to life. All in all I enjoyed everything about this book and would recommend it to everyone who enjoyed the previous titles.
