The floodwaters have receded, and the war is over. A ruler has fallen. The Wind Runner lives, missing yet not forgotten.

The world is changing, growing larger. After the horrors of war and the loss of spring comes the renewal of summer, a chance for a new beginning.

Ryoka Griffin has reappeared in Izril's north. The Quarass is dead, yet the King of Destruction's war continues. In the jungles of Baleros, Geneva and her friends fall under the shadow of the Titan of Baleros. Amidst it all, Erin Solstice grieves for the dead and pulls her family close. Yet there is always a door leading her onwards to a magical future...

As always, Andrea Parsneau narrating is AWESOME! I’ve lost count of all the unique voices she has created that brings this story to life. As far as the story, we finally hear from Ryoka, but sadly only for a chapter or two. We get more of the King of Destruction, Erin (of course), the doctors crew (always a delight), a few side tales, and many of the adventuring teams. This is the first book in a long time that feels like light stories rather than moving the plot forward in any significant way, but still 5 stars as usual.

Still a good book and recommended for a good read, but when compared to its predecessors, it seems slightly lacking.

Decent but not great

I have been in love with this series since I first found out about it from a book tuber. Decided to try it out and after about 10 hours of the first book I was hooked!!!! Then finding out that this series is over 12 MILLION words and there will be books for years to come I knew I couldn’t put it down. Also for all the people that will eventually say that the book is to short just go read it in the website everyone else is perfectly fine with waiting for 30+ hour books every few months.

Fantastic Book 10 can’t wait for the next.

it's nice that the writer can actually develop characters that have real personality instead of being engulfed completely by the main character like most fantasy books. I'm not a huge fan of the emotional parts but I can understand that that's part of Erin's character so I won't complain. However, Ryoka is not emotional. she's rational. she wouldn't be behaving anything like she does in this book and it kinda threw me off. Plus, it's called wind runner; and yet, there's more of Erin's story in the book than Ryoka. The art on the cover is kinda weird, too. like a pic of Ryoka's ass in leggings? strange choice... all in all though, it's probably the best fictional series on audible so, five stars.

good, but....
