About this listen

From the Wall Street Journal best-selling author of 44 Chapters About 4 Men (inspiration for the Netflix Original Series Sex/Life) comes a fun, forbidden romantic comedy about an inexperienced psychologist and her ultra-famous client.

I am thiiiis close to finally becoming a full-fledged psychologist. PhD? Check. Prestigious postdoc position, providing therapy to entitled millionaires and C-list celebrities whose pumpkin spice lattes cost more than my shoes and make excellent projectiles during their reality TV-worthy tantrums? Check. Letter of recommendation from my supervisor?

That’s going to take a miracle. Not only because my boss said I have to cure our most-prized client’s writer’s block in time for him to meet his insane deadline, but also because that client just so happens to be…

Thomas F*@%ing O’Reardon.

The wickedly brilliant, achingly beautiful, devastatingly British best-selling author whose psychological thrillers line my bookshelf at home and whose face I might or might not picture while I…you get the point. Sitting in a confined space with him, inhaling the subtle scent of his cologne, gazing into his broody blue eyes while trying to remember to nod and listen and come up with suggestions that don’t involve taking our clothes off…it’s torture.

So, when Thomas casually asks me out at the end of a therapy session, I’m forced to make an impossible choice: say yes and risk losing my dream job, or say no and risk losing my dream guy. In a panic, I blurt out a third option—the only solution I can think of that will allow me to see this man after hours without it being considered a career-ending ethics violation: group therapy.

The only problem? I’ve never actually done group therapy. And side problem: My other clients are heathens. But what’s the worst that could happen? I mean, it’s not like I’m going lose all control of the group and let it devolve into a chaotic, bloodthirsty, topless fight club. Right?

Disappointing but not terrible

I had high expectations because of the reviews. I think if I didn’t expect much, I might have enjoyed it more. Instead, I was really disappointed and regret spending credits on this. I was bored, not entertained, and relieved when it was over. If this is free for you, go for it. I don’t recommend spending credits on it.

Laugh out loud funny

One of the funniest books I have read in a long time. I hadn't even finished reading it yet and I was already recommending the book to friends to read or listen to.

As someone who works in the mental health field I am sure someone will have an issue with the patient client love affair. But I don't because it's written as fun fun it's just a book it's there to take you away from the truth sadness and hurt that mental health illness can be sometimes.

If you're looking for something to take you away from the seriousness of life and you need to laugh with a little bit of steamy steamy sex then this is the perfect book for you to read.

Love this audio so much!

It's been too long since I had a book that just made me feel.. good. I was laughing through the whole book and I blew through this in one sitting. I just couldn't put it down and I didn't want to. BB said that she initially wrote this book as a screenplay, and it is the FIRST book I have read that played out as a movie in my head. I usually insert myself into each book, but I read this book like a movie and it was magical for me.
Lou is finishing up her psychology degree and needs this job to get her final recommendation. When her boss asks her to take on a client she wasn't intended for, AND NOT SCREW THIS UP, she is ready for anything. Until she sees her favorite, and yes HOT, author Thomas O'Reardon. Not only does she read all his books, she has them all, on her bookshelf, in her office. When he comes in for his session, sparks fly immediately, but she doesn't want to be a total fangirl and her job depends on this.
Thomas doesn't believe this "creative psychologist" can get him over his writers block, but the next six weeks might be bearable if he can just have some fun while he's in town. As soon as Lou suggests Group Therapy, he is leery, but willing to hear her out.
After the first session, it is clear that being in the room with all these crazy (they are, we can't lie here to be PC) people might just be what he needs, especially if he gets to spend time with Lou.
The story is outlandish and the ending had me laughing out loud at the insanity, but it was so fun. When I say there's no angst, there really isn't any. I was wishing for just a bit I guess, but that is just me being broody and emo.

LOL RomCom at its Best! Great Story & Narration🎧

This fabulous romantic comedy contains the perfect balance of drama, hilarious and laugh out loud humor, heartfelt emotions and steamy romance. I enjoy BB Easton’s writing style and the way she draws you into her story, grabbing your attention and captivating it the entire book. Dr. Luna “Lou” Sterling, a psychologist, is steps away from getting PhD, a PhD she has dreamed of getting, when her boss assigns her a new client, one that will either make or break her because if she fails she can kiss her PhD behind. The client is a best-selling author, Thomas O’Reardon, who is suffering from writer’s block and his publishers gave him a timeline to get his next book out or he will lose his two million dollar deal. Problem is Lou is not only a huge fan of Thomas’s books, but she secretly crushes on him too. With her PhD riding on this, she must do what she can to get O’Reardon to get his groove back. He is not very receptive to see a therapist. But after a few visits, he warms to the idea, or rather, he warms up to Lou. And when he asks her out, she can not say yes since he is a patient nor could she say no, so she thinks of a way around it, Group Therapy and she gets her friends to help, her friends that are just as quirky as she is, maybe even more. There is never a dull moment in this book and I loved how it all played out, the story is cleverly plotted and you can definitely expect the unexpected, and have lots of fun along the way. BB Easton, thank you for another fabulously delightful story and emotional rollercoaster ride.

🎧 📚🎧 And for the wonderful narration, Ramona Master and Liam Price are mega talented narrator and versatile voice artists. They had a complete understanding of the characters they portrayed, gave each a voice that was a perfect fit for that character’s persona, sounding believable in every role and just as I pictured the characters to sound. Ramona Master nailed it as Lou, captured her quirkiness and her every emotion and had you feeling them, Liam Price did the same for Thomas, grasped his persona to a tee. Both were great at performing the roles of the secondary character as well. These entertaining storytellers are a pleasure to listen to and their narration enhances an already great story to another level. Thank you for the wonderful listen.

Hilarious romance

I found this book to be both hilarious and well written with a romance that made be smile. The shenanigans the other characters get up to make you laugh out loud. We’ve all met those crazy people the author writes about. A great book to pick up when you need a lift in spirits.

Strangely entertaining!💜

This book has moments of brilliance and then there’s the questionable scenes that almost seem too ridiculous even in a ROMCOM. I did laugh quite a bit and it was entertaining but I was also surprised at the ridiculousness of what her characters were participating in. Overall I would say it was entertaining.
The narration was very good. Both narrators performed well, and although I thought Ramona Masters was a little too dramatic in some ways, her character voices were very funny.
This was a standalone with and HEA.

My Two Pennies

Luna and Thomas’s story is rather interesting one. This story slowly builds their characters up as just when you think you know what’s going to happen next you got another thing coming. The narration is great and easy to listen to. An enjoyable read that is throughly entertaining.
