Publisher's summary

The war has begun. Both sides demand Diem's allegiance—or her death.

After her disastrous coronation, Diem finds herself at the center of the conflict between the Descended and the Guardians. With her newfound friends and the man she's falling for on one side, and the mortals she has vowed to protect on the other, Diem must walk a careful line to save the people she loves…even from each other.

The mystery of her unusual heritage begins to unravel, sending Diem and Luther on an unexpected journey across the realms. The answers may hold the key to winning the war, but finding them will require her to face painful truths about her mother, her bloodline, and her fate.

Meanwhile, the Crowns have set Diem in their sights. Some could be her greatest allies—while others want her dead. To end their oppressive reign, Diem must sort friend from foe and risk it all to build an army of her own.

But a powerful figure in the north has plans that could change everything...

Heat of the Everflame is the third book in The Kindred's Curse Saga, a four-book epic fantasy romance series that follows our feisty, bad*ss heroine Diem Bellator in her fight against injustice, her struggle to survive in a royal palace full of betrayal and intrigue, and her journey of self-discovery and finding true love.

This slow-burn, enemies-to-lovers series is perfect for fans of unique magic systems, dragons and other mythical creatures, angst and romantic tension, and hilarious banter. This series will appeal to fans of plot-heavy, character-driven romantasy such as A Court of Thorns and Roses, Throne of Glass, Blood and Ash, The Plated Prisoner, Grisha, and Crowns of Nyaxia.

Unexpected twists and turns

This has quickly become one of the of my favorite book series! It’s a rival to Fourth wing, ACOTAR, and FBAA

WHAT?!

Absolutely loved this book! I have to admit our FMC was a little frustrating when ignoring or not realizing what was right in front of her face regarding one particular circumstance (iykyk). That aside, I have loved the world building, magic and characters in the series. Cannot And I can't stress this enough, CANNOT wait for Burn of the Everflame. Eagerly, anxiously, throwing up (lol) awaiting its release!

SCREAMING

I can't believe I have to wait at least a whole year to hear the next book. If you want a "romantasy" that is actually more focused on the plot than the romance, this is great. There are enough familiar elements that the world-building isn't overwhelming but done in a way that feels distinct to this series. I love the FMC, mostly because she LIVES in denial - I mean absolutely DWELLS there - and it is INFURIATING. The MLI is pretty generic, nothing to go all "book boyfriend" over. But that's okay because I'm not really here for the love story. If you are, this entire series is a slow burn, enemies(?) to lovers, fated mates, and dark (but not really) romance.

This book had me going through it. I honestly don't see how Cole could possibly wrap this up in just one more book without cramming it all in.

If you live TOG or ACOTAR this great

I don’t review books ever because everyone has different taste. The first book took me a while to get into but this weird is sooo well written. Unlike anything I have read before with character development. I highly recommend this series and can’t wait for the next book

Amazing!

There is not enough talk about how amazing these books are! I’m gut wrenched at the end of this one and can’t wait for the next one! Love the narrator and love this story

Long simmering, continued saga…

These dang gods can’t get their priorities straight. Now to wait for the last book to be released after being pushed back again.

Great Continuation of the Series

This book focused on building the world and I loved it and I finished it in less than a week. I love the journey aspect.

However, this book was not as good as the last one as Diem seemed to become a bit stagnant in her character growth, and the book was long winded in many many instances. The performance was great except introducing the other male voice actor for only one random scene.

Her will to make a change

The thing I like about this book is, it’s fast paced every person in it is very interesting and adds well to the story. I like the world that they have developed.
The thing I like, least about this book is her childishness and her indelible idea of do no harm, even when harm is inevitable

Excellent!

I’m absolutely in love with this series. It might just be my favorite. However, the brief change in narrator totally through me off. I didn’t enjoy his voice or cadence at all, so I completely skipped through that part. If the next book includes multiple POVs, I hope the author opts to have the primary narrator execute them all.

The author has blossomed!!

I liked the growth of Diem, the constant desire for more story and lore was definitely given. Now I am just begging to know what happens now!?
