Publisher's summary

Anger is something we feel. It exists for a reason and always deserves our respect and attention. We all have a right to everything we feel - and certainly our anger is no exception.

"Anger is a signal and one worth listening to," writes Dr. Harriet Lerner in her renowned classic that has transformed the lives of millions. While anger deserves our attention and respect, women still learn to silence our anger, to deny it entirely, or to vent it in a way that leaves us feeling helpless and powerless. In this engaging and eminently wise book, Dr. Lerner teaches both women and men to identify the true sources of anger and to use it as a powerful vehicle for creating lasting change.

For decades this book has helped millions of listeners learn how to turn their anger into a constructive force for reshaping their lives. With a new introduction by the author, The Dance of Anger is ready to lead the next generation.

We’ll done!

She put into words exactly how I feel. I hope I can apply her advice, especially about expressing anger more effectively. I think this is really helpful.

A little dated but still excellent

Like many other reviews I’ve read, I feel like I just received three hours of free therapy from this book. It goes so much deeper than most relationship advice I’ve heard over the years. (Relationships with family friends and significant others.) I had to keep pausing it as I was listening because it was causing me to think through so many relationships in my life in the past and present. I may need to relisten to this every few years.

Tools for cooperation

Just wow, I should have read this in the early 1990's when it was first recommended to me. The practical viewpoint and advice about communicating through difficulties with others is a #lifechanger. I will listen to it again and I'm sure it will bless me even further and for that I am #grateful. As you anticipate your next dysfunctional family #Thanksgiving get together give this a quick listen, it will be like winning the #tagsgiving #sweepstakes

Excellent resource!

While this book is targeted toward those trying to help women with anger and conflict, the concepts are universal. Men can benefit greatly from this book, too.

I can’t unsee the patterns

This book is timeless. It as relevant here in 2021 as it was in 1985. Truly, something that will need to be reread and read again.

Excellent

This book disclosed a lot about how I deal with my anger at times. Didn’t realize that past hurt or past experiences triggered my anger. I recommend this book to anyone that wants to improve relationships.
