Publisher's summary
An utterly uplifting feel-good summer romance
Can one summer house bring two broken hearts together?
Summer escapes to Lilac House have always been a source of comfort for Anna Harris. Though things will never be the same since her husband’s death, she knows that it is there, nestled in Lake Summers in the heart of the Adirondack Mountains, that she and her children Zac and Evie can begin to build a new life.
The house is just as beautiful as Anna remembers, and caught up in the rhythm of small-town life, helping her Aunt Hope run the little shop on Main Street, Anna begins to feel a sense of herself she hasn’t felt in years. Then she meets Aidan. Handsome, strong, and quiet, he also knows what’s it’s like to lose someone. In each other they recognise something they’ve both been missing and they feel a spark.
But Aidan’s past holds a different set of complications. He’s hiding a secret about why he came to Lake Summers. And just as the Lilac House finally starts to feel like home, Anna learns something devastating about Greg’s death that makes her question everything....
The summer might have brought Anna and Aidan together, but can Anna finally let go of the past now she really has the chance for a new beginning?
A beautiful story about moving on and finding yourself, The Lilac House will restore your faith in love and teach you that it’s never too late the find the person who will change your life. For fans of Carolyn Brown, Jenny Hale, and Mary Alice Monroe.

I can't say they didn't warn me. Right now, I realize: I probably should have listened. Because if there's anyone who has no business playing a sport that requires a helmet, pads, and a liability waiver, it's this girl. The same girl who once knocked herself out during a game of backyard baseball. I stepped up to the plate, pulled the bat back a little too far to swing, and clocked myself in the back of the skull. Boom. Lights Out Lucy. That's how I got my roller derby name. So yeah. Maybe I should have known better.

Whitney had some misgivings when she dropped her increasingly moody teenage daughter, Amelia, off at Lauren’s house. She’d never met the parents, and usually she’d go in, but Amelia clearly wasn’t going to let something so humiliating happen, so instead Whitney waved to her daughter before pulling away from the little house with the roses in front. But when she goes back the next day, an elderly couple answers the door - Amelia and Lauren aren’t there, and this couple swears they never were, that she’s at the wrong house.

Story
It was supposed to be a fun weekend at our family cabin. I was going to surprise my husband, Mike, with a small get-together for his 40th birthday. Something is wrong, though. Mike isn’t himself lately. He goes out often and by himself, leaving me and our young son. Our happy marriage is fading away, and I don’t know why. This weekend is just what's needed to cheer him up. It’s what we need for us. When I get to the cabin and set up, I hear sounds coming from the basement. That’s when I see her. A young woman tied up and scared.

I prefer high heels to fishing reels, but single dad Henry Cooper is determined to hook me. I’ve seen too many women give up everything they want for some man, and I refuse to do the same. That path leads straight to heartache. I say the absolute wrong thing every time I’m around him, but Henry still flirts and teases like he’s mistaken me for someone with a sense of humor. My plan to avoid the construction contractor with the big hands, strong thighs, and ridiculous fishy puns is shot all to heck when my cousin asks Henry to teach us how to fly fish for an upcoming competition. I’m...

Bad
This was the first time I read this author, weak story ,flat characters ,uninspired ending . Would be hard pressed to read another of Barbara Josselsohn books . I would not waste a credit or the money. This may appeal to a very limited audience.
