  • Moms & Self-care
    Nov 22 2022

We all want to have a fabulous, healthy, and enjoy long, happy life. But we may not realize each one of us, in large part, holds the answer to achieving these rights within ourselves. It's called Self - care. But what's exactly Self - care?

In today's episode, Sage Olson and her guest Michelle, a licensed therapist passionate about maternal mental health, discuss self-care in moms. Michelle helps moms to optimize self-care in their daily lives. She explains, "In simpler terms, self-care means to attend to your own needs.” Moms often feel pressure to attend to the needs of everyone else before themselves, sacrificing their needs in the process.

When they do prioritize themselves, then comes the dreaded mom guilt. But planning and prioritizing your self-care routine does not have to result in guilt and does not mean you’re a bad mom.  Prioritizing self-care will result in a happier, healthier, more present life.

“There is enough time for self-care. There is not enough time to make up for the life you’ll miss by not filling yourself up.”

    — Jennifer Williamson
