    Sorry for being absent for the past two weeks- I had family visiting and was focused on being present .. then I got the flu. The flu knocked me on my ass and caused a huge set back for myself and care. I felt like I was in such a good place mentally and physically to being sick in bed for a week, not taking my medication and vitamins, having no energy and being a MESS. I am having such a hard time restarting and getting back to my best self so I finally made a plan. Tune in to this episode to find out how I plan to tackle this setback.

Typically I go on my phone when I am anxiously struggling to sleep but I have experimented with a few new healthy mind distractions this week.     I posted a photo recently (follow @mentalhealthmondaypod on instagram) and someone commented on the fact that I have sticky notes in my mirrors which got me thinking about the sticky notes I have ALL over my house that say REST. Rest of course can mean to relax, take breaks, time for yourself, etc. which is a great reminder for all. BUT rest is also a basic distress tolerance skill acronym.     Happy best day of the week !!!! Mental health monday! When i recorded this i was actually having the worst mental health day and had no energy to record or really do anything good for myself. My brain was so overwhelmed with thoughts moving 1000 mph so all my relaxing exercises werent working. So instead I am going to keep my brain active and moving with a journal prompt from were really not strangers. If you need some help journaling, a way out of your thoughts, or something beneficial to your younger self... tune in xo

    I am confessing that I am a skin, scab, nail, cuticle, pimple, scalp picker and i need to stop!!!!! I just talked about last week that I don't believe in setting new years goals but i take that back! This year my goal is to stop picking and in this episode I tell you how i plan to do that. For most of my life when the new year began, I would make an endless list of unattainable goals that would leave me feeling like a failure each year. 2 years ago I did away with goals and started making vision boards!
