Gain a superpower!!!

I cant wait to get better at validating others and myself. I truly wish I had heard this book 13 years ago. My husband has fallen out of love with me because I haven't validated him enough. Validating others is truly the key to intimate connection and trust. This book helped me understand clearly what it is, isn't, and how to do it effectively and sound natural. I liked the reader too. his voice was genuine, natural and easy to listen to.

Compact and interesting

The writer very succinctly and clearly walks you through what validation is and how to do it. I found it useful and interesting! The examples are fairly American (for lack of a better description) and therefore can feel a bit insincere or over the top when used in a different cultural setting. For example, I work and live in the Netherlands and the phrase "Ugh, I am so sorry, that must be so frustrating" is not something that I could easily fit in a conversation due to, what I feel are, cultural differences. Still the ideas presented in the book are valid and useful and the author actually encourages use to take the ideas and make them work for you. A good read!

I Hear You is very good and very concise

The audio is very well done. I value having both the audio and a hard copy. This book seems worth coming back to and pondering again and again.

So good, I bought the Kindle...

I wish more non-fiction advice books were as concise and to the point as this book. Michael doesn't waste time getting to the point or expanding on the concept ad nauseam. To accelerate my adoption of these counter-intuitive but straightforward practices, I purchased the Kindle version after completing the audible book.

Just discovered a hidden superpower!

This concept is so simple, and I do it naturally sometimes, but his clear explanations, backed by research and examples, hit a home run. It just makes sense. My friends are going to be so relieved!
