Publisher's summary

Enemies emerge everywhere. Stagnation starts seeming standard. Results require Ruthlessness.

Joe has been moving deeper into his study of ritual magic and further away from his combat team. He's learning more and more, but more often than not needs to choose between his research and squad leadership. Improving the town is a huge help to the guild, and they have been pushing to increase their power.

Their rapid increases have not gone unnoticed. The guild receives an ultimatum, delivered by assassins and signed with blood. If they continue to accrue power and fame, each and every person with a grievance against the guild will come to smash the town back to square one.

With tensions coming to a head, all Joe wants to do is leave it all behind and reach the next area. He flatly refuses the guild when they ask him to devise lethal options to use against the gathering army, but when the time comes...even Joe is unsure if he'll step into the limelight and show everyone exactly how ruthless he can be.

Another Amazing Book for this Series

This was another amazing book from an awesome series by a creative author. Luke Daniel’s does a great narration as always and truly brings the book to life. His range of voices is super helpful and makes the experience so much more enjoyable. Dakota Krout brings you into this intricate world and has the characters face problems that are more realistic than most other series. I also love every allusion to the Divine Dungeon series he adds. Fantastic!

space holder

while the narrators performance is as well done as the rest of the series. This book is like sending 8 hours on a shopping trip in dnd. You find some cool things to look and you night get some shine new weapons, but nothing really happens during that time.

Yes. This one is worth reading.

This book of the series is good, too. Keep reading.
It only took a few minutes for the narrator to grab and hold my attention.
The story is not the same old rehash. It is good and more original than the last couple of installments.

The author leaves us with a definite nod that there is more coming. I just hope it comes soon.

Awesome Job!

The story and narration was great! The comedy was good and kept me wanting to listen more! The blooper reel was a nice touch at the end makes me wish more books added it just to show how frustrating it is when they get tounge tied! Overall great job!
