Publisher's summary

Madison Montgomery comes from money and power, but when someone close to her commits the ultimate crime, Madison must live with her tainted name for the rest of her life.

When she begins Riverside Preparatory Academy, the private school her father has swept her into in The Hamptons, she hopes for a fresh start. What she wasn't hoping for was the pack of bad boys who run the school - 10, to be exact.

When Madison gains the attention of their leader, Bishop Vincent Hayes, a whole new world that she didn't think existed is exposed to her. A whole world that starts and ends with The Elite Kings' Club, and these boys are about to flip her world upside down.

Secrets are overflowing and family lies are about to be exposed. Is there more to Madison Montgomery than even she knows?

That voice

Love this book and Amo. But I couldn’t stand her voice. It was like Siri was reading it.

didn't expect to like it

I was pleasantly surprised by the fact that I really got into both the story and narrator, both of which I that would annoy me in the beginning. although I'm all about some dirty talk and dirty scenes, I think the young age of the characters kind of snuffed out how much I could enjoy the sexy parts.

Author needs to do her homework!

As a gun enthusiast and avid hunter you do not shoot deer with “ shotguns”! If you don’t know you should do your own research!
The correct word would be rifle.

cliffhanger

a bunch of high schoolers involved in seedy underworld. you won't get answers in this book and it looks like this relationship will go through 2 more books before it settles. very confusing storyline, slutty male and female characters, hard to like any of them. not going to go any further in this series.

Good series

I would categorize it under romance not erotica. Even with that each book keeps you wanting to read/listen to the next one and for me that's a good thing I prefer books that are in series and even spinoff of those series and this one keeps you wanting to know what happens next and with all the other characters.

Good story, definite cringe moment s

it seems sexual assault is an accepted thing, even by the main female characters who claim to be feminist. She seemed to, for no reason. accept the brutal assaults on her body by this boy Bishop. Narrator, not so great.

Meh

Sooo I was completely irritated with this story. And honestly the only reason I would listen tot he 2nd book is because of the ending. It was like no matter how many time Bishop said he hated Madi she kept coming back. Like dang gone puppy. He literally would tell her she was going to die and he would do it and she would still bring her dumb self back thinking he is playing. It was beyond irritating.

And then the narrators voice was borderline irritating but I eventually got over it. At least enough to finish. So although I may not have liked this first one I might move onto the next book we’ll see.

The Silver Swan

I hate writing bad reviews....I really do. But while the story was decent if a bit far fetched for high school - at least it feels like high school- anyways the narrator really really distracted from the story. This would have been better as a duet with a male narrator...and the way she pronounces certain words feels like nails on a chalkboard. Overall I probably wouldn't listen to it again & I likely won't finish out the series simply based off the narrator.

good book

love the narrorators voice for a woman but not as a man's voice. the book would have been so much better with a man narrator. I forget they are highschool students. kinda far fetched they were in highschool. but good read.

Get over the narration, it’s well worth it!

I spent way too many chapters in the beginning debating whether the narrator was automated or not or some combination thereof. But you get used to her after a while. It hasn’t even been a month, and I’m already rereading the first few books because holy cow they are that good. I am waiting on credits to binge the rest of the series because I know once I start the second arc, I’m not going to want to stop.
