Cognitive Behavioral Therapy: Master your brain and emotions to overcome anxiety, depression, and negative thoughts.
Most of us are trapped in a roller-coaster of "automatic" thoughts, emotions, and actions. Try as hard as we might, when we see certain people or heard certain things, we get emotional. These intense emotions then trigger us to say certain things out of habit. We also often feel pushed to act a certain way. This all plays out so quickly we feel we really have no control about it. Very much like being on a roller coaster. Might as well just brace yourself for the ride, right? After all, it’s too easy to conclude that your "automatic" reactions of fear, anxiety, depression, or anger are simply part of "who you are as a person"!
Well, you don’t have to keep making the same wrong decisions over and over again. You don’t have to be miserable, powerless, or small. You don’t have to keep defining yourself as a person who doesn’t have much power over your life and your world. What if I told you that you can get off the careening roller coaster that is your life? What if you can put an end to negative emotional reactions that consistently and constantly put you in a bad spot?
The answer? Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT). CBT is a one of the most respected, thoroughly tested, and vetted psychiatric counseling systems in existence. Countless people have been liberated from personal prisons of helplessness, powerlessness, failure, anxiety, depression, and compulsive behaviors. Best of all, CBT doesn’t necessarily involve mind altering medication, hypnosis, or electro shock therapy. Instead, CBT works with a very basic premise: Whatever negative thoughts, psychology, verbal and habitual behavioral patterns you have are products of how you choose to interpret situations. These interpretations, in turn, are products of certain "truths" you choose to believe.
CBT zeroes in on the central fact that you have a lot of choice in how your life plays out. By simply choosing to think in a different way and interpret certain experiences differently, you can produce a massive positive change in your life. You no longer have to feel like certain negative mental and emotional states are natural and "automatic" responses to certain triggers in your life.

Life changing!
After just 4 chapters I found myself making connections that I don’t believe I ever have before, and I was laughing at myself for the simplicity of it. Going back for another listen back to back. Sometimes it just takes a different approach and this book was to the point and very easy to grasp the concept of CBT. Thank you so much to the author Bill Andrews for this amazing text.

Learning a better way to communicate with myself.
This book was a great, easy, simple to comprehend step by step guide on how to use CBT! It was clear and concise, and fulfilled its objective. I have always heart of people talking about cognitive behavioral therapy, but I never knew exactly what it was, so this book really helped me understand more about it. I'd say it is well written and easy to understand, and it gives some suggestions on how to go about retraining your mind. It gives easy, practical steps to identify and change behaviors so that you can promote your own happiness.

For younger people
A lot of this information in this book seems to be for millennials and younger people .
The book talks about participation ribbons and the world revolving around the listener.
I didn't grow up this way, a bit of this info is okay but the majority of it just isn't for this 49 year old, meh

Im not even an hour into this...
The guy reading this audible is quick and aggressive, like nails down a chalk board or a baby crying that won't stop. (no offense to him) It just doesn't fit. I will finish this audible because its helpful but his voice is a distraction but it might just be me. Its worth the read, though.

This book is phenomenal and a life changer.
As someone who has suffered from depression and anxiety for nearly their whole life, I needed natural relief and I found this gem of a book. This book was incredibly insightful. There was so much information that will help me in my business and just in life in general. The step by step instructions and workbook pages will give you a path to follow to less anxiety and stress. The perfect path to deal with intrusive thoughts that can ruin my day to day life balance. I thoroughly enjoyed learning from the author and will continue to refer back to his methods! I am so happy I found this book!

Just What I Needed
As a professional counselor I enjoy listening audio books which reinforce what I use in my practice.
